Art and craft sessions to refugees designed to enhance feelings of wellbeing: aiming to enable a sense of connection and familiarity with the fabric and materials of daily life with an ability to process both their new lives in the UK, and the stories they carry with them. Through a final exhibition we aim to promote an understanding of refugee lives to the wider public. Activities are based around day-to day living – the things that everyone does to care for themselves, relate to others and find meaning through friendship and possibly faith and make use of found materials and everyday objects that everyone will be familiar with but which also carry resonance through meaning.

We have worked with Leeds Refugee Council to deliver this course with funding from Westhill Endowment.
